คำอธิบายแผนภาพ (ร่าง) หลักสูตรการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน
หลักสูตรกำหนดสมรรถนะหลัก (Core Competency) ไว้ ๕ ประการ เพื่อเป็นเป้าหมายในการพัฒนาความสามารถที่จำเป็นของผู้เรียนต่อการใช้ชีวิตในปัจจุบันและอนาคต ได้แก่
๑. สมรรถนะการจัดการตนเอง
๒. สมรรถนะการสื่อสาร
๓. สมรรถนะการรวมพลังทำงานเป็นทีม
๔. สมรรถนะการคิดขั้นสูง และ
๕. สมรรถนะการเป็นพลเมืองที่เข้มแข็ง
สมรรถนะทั้ง ๕ ด้าน จะได้รับการพัฒนาผ่านขอบข่ายการเรียนรู้ (Learning Area) ๕ ด้าน เพื่อบูรณาการหัวข้อการเรียนรู้ข้ามศาสตร์ให้ผู้เรียนสามารถพัฒนาและแสดงความสามารถผ่านมุมมองต่าง ๆ ได้แก่
๑. ขอบข่ายการเรียนรู้ด้านสุขภาวะกายและจิต
๒. ขอบข่ายการเรียนรู้ด้านภาษา ศิลปะและวัฒนธรรม
๓. ขอบข่ายการเรียนรู้ด้านโลกของงานและการประกอบอาชีพ
๔. ขอบข่ายการเรียนรู้ด้านคณิตศาสตร์ วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี และ
๕. ขอบข่ายการเรียนรู้ด้านสังคมและความเป็นมนุษย์
ทั้งสมรรถนะและขอบข่ายการเรียนรู้ถูกออกแบบและพัฒนาบนรากฐานสุขภาวะ (WelL being Foundation) ๔ ด้าน ซึ่งสถานศึกษาจะต้องสร้างบรรยากาศ สภาพแวดล้อม สิ่งแวดล้อม และกลไกการบริหารสถานศึกษาให้เอื้อต่อการพัฒนา ได้แก่
๑. รากฐานด้านสุขภาพกายและจิต
๒. รากฐานด้านสังคมและ อารมณ์
๓. รากฐานด้านความฉลาดรู้ (Literacy, Numeracy, Digital Literacy) และ
๔. รากฐานด้านคุณธรมและจริยธรรม
การพัฒนาผู้เรียนให้เกิดสมรรถนะและรากฐานสำคัญ ผ่านขอบข่ายการเรียนรู้ เพื่อบรรลุเป้าหมายสำคัญ คือ มาตรฐานการศึกษาของชาติในรูปแบบผลลัพธ์ที่พึงประสงค์ทางการศึกษา พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๑
ทั้ง ๓ ด้าน ได้แก่
๑. การเป็นผู้เรียนรู้
๒. การเป็นผู้ร่วมสร้างสรรค์นวัตกรรม และ
๓. การเป็นพลเมืองที่เข้มแข็ง
